His Excellency Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), has received the Board of Directors of the Emirates Association for Franchise Development (FAD) headed by His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Chairman of FAD, at the Chamber’s headquarters in Ajman. The meeting was attended by Abdullah Saeed Al Nuaimi, Board Member of both ACCI and FAD; and Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of ACCI.
During the meeting, Al Muwaiji commended FAD’s role in supporting the franchise sector, stressing the need to increase franchise exhibitions and events to encourage entrepreneurs to access the markets abroad and to attract successful brands. He also stressed the importance of creativity and innovation in franchise projects, which greatly support success and sustainability of business.
The attendees were briefed about FAD’s activities and role in enhancing expertise of the business community in franchise, which ensures success rates exceeding 80 per cent.
During the meeting, ACCI and FAD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). H.E. Mohammed Helal Al Muhairi signed the MoU on behalf of the association whereas H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Nuaimi signed the memorandum on behalf of his organization.
The MoU stipulates the need to increase the cooperation in the franchise activities and any other sectors that serve both parties. In addition, it states to exchange knowledge, expertise and information on a regular basis to promote and develop the activities of the franchise and to participate in the various events.
The MoU also seeks to create effective channels of communication between them in order to strengthen the relations and develop the services that help institutions and companies to expand the agreements and actions of franchises and diversification of their activities including organizing exhibitions and founding new mechanisms to the support rendered by FAD through proper programs and activities.
The Ajman Chamber has hosted the 1st meeting of FAD Board of Directors 2019 chaired by H.E. Mohammed Helal Al Muhairi and the attendance of its board members. The meeting discusses conducting a survey on Franchise companies and the proper approached to execute it. The attendance of the meeting reviewed the recommendations of the advisory and technical committee and discussed the need to enhance the services provided for the business community such as training and awareness on the role of franchise in business development and growth.
The meeting also discussed hosting the World Franchise Conference in October 2019 in addition to suggesting the participation of FAD in the World Franchise Exhibition 2019.
The Board Members emphasized in the pivotal role of the Federation of UAE Chambers in developing the franchise sector by forming delegations under the umbrella of FAD to participate in different regional and international exhibitions with the aim of developing knowledge and experience and to take a closer look at the latest ideas and projects.
